Harvey Goldstein, an American businessman with decades of experience working in Southeast Asia, currently heads PT Harvest International Indonesia as its president director. In addition to his work with that consulting and development company, Harvey Goldstein is a past chairman of the Asia Pacific Council of American Chambers of Commerce (APCAC), which he assisted in developing into a major driver of economic growth and business networking opportunities throughout the region. In 1986, the same year Mr. Goldstein became its president, the organization initiated its annual APCAC Award.

Today, APCAC continues this tradition by presenting the award each year at its Washington, DC policy conference. The men and women distinguished by their receipt of the award are noted for their accomplishments in building stronger economic relationships between the United States and the Asia-Pacific region. Over the years, honorees have included then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who received the award in 2012 along with U.S. Chamber of Commerce president Thomas Donohue.

In 2015, the individuals so honored included Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker, Congressman Charles Boustany, Jr. (R-Louisiana), Senator Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), and Senator Ron Wyden (D-Oregon). The inclusion of these prominent figures among the APCAC Award’s honorees underscores the bipartisan nature of global economic development.

The president and director of PT Harvest International, Indonesia, and managing director of Business-Link Pte Ltd, Singapore, Harvey Goldstein has almost 45 years of executive-level business experience throughout South East Asia. Harvey Goldstein is also a former Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Council of American Chambers of Commerce (APCAC).

Composed of 26 American Chambers of Commerce, APCAC was established in 1968. Leveraging the growth of the Asia-Pacific region to create jobs in the United States, APCAC pursued a number of key issues in 2014, including the protection of intellectual property. Another key topic covered the creation of a process for global entry interviews and signature collection that would take place at U.S. embassies rather than requiring applicants for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Business Travel Cards travel to the United States.

APCAC also sponsors an annual business summit that provides numerous opportunities for business, diplomatic, and government leaders to meet. Discussion topics for the 2015 conference range from the perspectives of American ambassadors to the next generation of business in Asia, along with local business tours of APCAC member organizations. People who attend the business summit also have the opportunity to interview for their business travel cards without having to fly to the United States.
