Currently working as an investment consultant and entrepreneur in Singapore & Indonesia, Harvey Goldstein formerly applied his extensive engineering expertise to projects at NASA and the National Academy of Sciences. Before establishing himself in the investment field in Indonesia, Harvey Goldstein authored the early definitive publication, entitled; Computer Controlled Traffic Signalized Intersections in a Small to Mid-sized City, for the Highway Research Board/National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP), of the National Academy of Sciences.

Since its launch in 1962, the NCHRP has played a critical role in the development of a national highway system. Having recently observed its 50th anniversary, the NCHRP took the opportunity to evaluate and celebrate its contributions to transportation research. The organization’s many valuable findings have been incorporated into the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials’ (AASHTO’s) standards and specifications and have impacted the transportation industry in a variety of other ways.

With a constant awareness of the complex issues faced by state-level Departments of Transportation, NCHRP continues to strive to solve financial, political, and societal issues as they relate to safe and efficient transportation.

Before starting his career as a businessman specializing in Indonesia, Harvey Goldstein graduated from Syracuse University with a master’s degree in electrical engineering. Throughout his career, Harvey Goldstein has served as a committee member or chairman for various Indonesian and international organizations. For example, he served as chairman for the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), Indonesia, which connects more than 20,000 young chief executives in 125 countries.

The YPO assists young business leaders in managing successful companies in a variety of industries. The combined revenue of the companies of YPO members exceeds $6 trillion annually, and the companies employ more than 15 million people. In February 2013, the YPO hosted its yearly Global Leadership Summit in Istanbul, Turkey. The event connected close to 3,000 YPO members through events that entertained the entire family and a comprehensive, two-day conversation on the current state of the global market and today's most pressing issues. The 2014 edition will take a step further as YPO Global EDGE in Los Angeles brings together more industry visionaries than ever before.
